Tony Richardson is the Director of The Urban Transport Institute, a private research consultancy located at Taggerty, about 110km north-east of Melbourne, Australia. Over the course of his career he has established through extensive research and consultancy projects an international recognition in the field of travel data collection. He has pioneered innovative approaches and seen these techniques become mainstream methods and has a comprehensive grasp of the range of survey techniques and their appropriate application. Over the past 25 years, he has been Director of several major surveys in Australia and overseas which have been innovative and very successful in providing cost effective, reliable travel data.
Liz Ampt is head of Steer Davies Gleave's Australian operations in Adelaide. Encompassing several areas of survey methodology, Liz's work has a particular focus on the development of innovative behavioural change methods. She is a specialist in the field of behaviour research - in particular, understanding and facilitating the potential for individual change (aka. voluntary behaviour change). In addition, she is particularly interested in understanding reactions to policies that include constraint measures and in assisting with policy advice on behavioural change. Her interest in behavioural change stemmed from her initial specialisation in travel survey methodology and design, on which she had published numerous articles.
Arnim Meyburg has been a Cornell University faculty member since 1969. He is a Professor of Transportation Engineering and Planning. He has many years of experience in research, teaching, and consultation, as well as in conducting, managing, and administering successful research efforts. He is the co-author of 4 books, the co-editor of 4 books, and author of one monograph (in German) on various transportation engineering and planning topics. He has published numerous papers and contributed 9 book chapters. His major research interests are travel demand modeling, transportation survey methodologies, freight transportation, urban and regional transportation planning, transportation-communications trade-offs, transportation and the environment.
